Founding CEO | Youth Leads UK

Youth Leads UK is an award-winning charity getting the voice of young people heard and acted upon. Youth Leads runs skills development programmes to upskill disadvantaged young people, publishes Xplode Magazine providing a platform for young people to use their voice and pursues the challenging of decision-makers on under-representation of young people at leadership level.

Social Mobility Commissioner | HM Government

Saeed served as a Social Mobility Commissioner from 2018 - 2021. Building on his own experiences supporting social mobility and challenging government and society to make a difference, Saeed's appointment was approved by the Prime Minister as part of a reconstituted Social Mobility Commission. Trustee | Generation:You Employed, UK

Saeed was appointed Trustee of Generation in 2019. Generation is a global youth employment programme that aims to reach 1,000,000 young people in five countries in five years. Generation operates five programmes in the United Kingdom focusing on technology, healthcare and hospitality.

Co-Opted Non-Executive Director | Bolton at Home

Saeed joined Bolton at Home in January 2020. Bolton at Home is the social landlord that manages and maintains more than 18,000 homes across Bolton alongside tackling poverty with debt and money advice and food and clothes initiatives.

Associate Non-Executive Director | Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust

Saeed’s first appointment in the health sector was to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust as an associate Non-Executive Director in November 2020. Pennine Care delivers mental health and learning disability services across Greater Manchester. Saeed left this role in November 2022.

The CareTech Foundation is the charitable foundation of CareTech Plc that provides social care services in the UK. The Advisory Council contributes to delivering high-quality programmes that deliver meaningful impact to communities in need in the UK and overseas. Vice-Chair of Governors | Ladybridge High School

Saeed served as school governor at his former secondary school, Ladybridge High and was appointed in 2016. He then became Vice-Chair of Governors in September 2020 before stepping down in July 2022.

Past Positions

Strategy for Financial Wellbeing Challenge Group Member | UK Money and Pensions Service

Saeed was appointed to the group in February 2020. The group had been established to meet the goals set out in the Government-backed UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing. Saeed and other group members will helped to set milestones for the ten-year journey towards better financial wellbeing and worked until December 2020 to address the key strategic financial priorities for the UK.

Trustee | Step up to Serve

Founded by the then Prince of Wales, Step up to Serve's #iwill campaign promotes social action among 10-20 year-olds. This includes activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which create a double-benefit – to communities and young people themselves. So far more than 850 business, education and voluntary sector partners have committed to embedding social action into the lives of young people. Saeed serves as a Trustee and has chaired the Business Pioneers Steering Group. This group has been successful in many ways: teaming up to deliver change, embedding and integrating strategies to deliver social action programmes and including social action as part of their recruitment processes. Trustee | Young Manchester

Saeed served as a Trustee of Young Manchester from 2017 to 2020. Young Manchester is a charity that funds and commissions youth and play activities and provides children and young people in communities across the city with increased opportunities in all aspects of their life.

Chair of Trustees | Beacon Bolton Counselling Service

Beacon Bolton Counselling Service, established in 1990, provides therapeutic counselling to anyone over the age of 16 years, irrespective of race, religion, gender or sexuality. Over the past year, nearly 3,000 sessions have been offered to nearly 400 clients on a wide range of issues from stress and anxiety to bereavement and relationships. With a team of over 40 dedicated counsellors and operating over 20 years, Beacon is a well-established local organisation that provides support to those in need. Saeed terminated his Trusteeship in September 2019.

Saeed was a panellist and national youth representative on the Review into Full-Time Youth Social Action under the Office for Civil Society. The review and its outcomes can be found here.

UK Young Leader | United States Embassy, London

Saeed left this post in November 2016 when Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Saeed worked with a group of curious, caring, and capable people, and participated in conferences on current issues. He then met and discussed these issues with high-level U.S. officials and selected American visitors to the United Kingdom and attended U.S. Embassy events at Winfield House.

Saeed Atcha is a trusted voice on air across the UK on the Wireless Group’s 9 Stations across the North of England and Wales. Saeed also supports live inserts into programmes and social media marketing.

Saeed is also an Ambassador at One Young World, an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
